MINISTRY TEAM INFORMATION
Criteria for Developing/Approving Ministry Teams
Updated July 9, 2004
- A group of two or more people responding to the call of the Holy Spirit to minister to a need in our church, our community, or our world.
- The group is bound by a shared sense of ministry and by a shared sense of the mission of Akron Mennonite Church.
- The Ministry must be compatible with the vision and mission of AMC.
- A Ministry Team must have a champion, someone that is passionate about a cause and willing to provide leadership.
- It must be at least two people from two separate households.
- The Ministry Team must be accountable to and connected to the leadership structure at AMC. Each Ministry Team will be assigned a Pastoral Team member as a connection to the formal church leadership.
- Each team must have a Coach from the Ministry Team Committee to help in developing the Team Charter.
- Money allocated from the Ministry Team fund is intended as “seed” money for new or existing teams in the start-up phase of a new project (the first year or two). After the start-up phase, the team will need to find funding from other sources.
