MEET DAWN YODER HARMS, CO-PASTOR

  • Family: Dawn is married to Doug Harms who is currently a Maintenance Technician with MCC home office in Akron. They have two sons; Matthew and Christopher.

  • Employment History:
    • 1997 to present: Co-Pastor at AMC.
    • 1990 to 1996: Program Coordinator, MCC-US Appalachia in Whitesburg, Kentucky where she and her husband worked together with local community organizations to develop voluntary service assignments in southeastern Kentucky.
    • 1988 to 1990: Community Worker in Lisbon, Portugal where she and her husband worked in a supportive role with a small Portuguese Mennonite Fellowship. Tutored African immigrants in Portuguese.
    • 1983 to 1986: Community Development Worker in Kimpese Zaire where she and her husband related to and worked with an Angolan refugee community, through the United Methodist Church. Work involved adult education and relationship-building.

  • Education:
    • Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries, Elkhart, Indiana, 1981-1983, 1987, 1996-1997. She has received her Master of Divinity degree from AMBS in Elkhart.
    • Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana, 1977 to 1981. BA Degree in Music Education.
